THE MOST IMPORTANT
DECISION IN LIFE!

On July 22, 1992, I made the most important decision in my life and what is the most important decision for anyone to make. I received Jesus as my Saviour at Saranac Village, a Young Life camp in New York. This decision changed my life for eternity.

Why Receive Jesus?

It is important to receive Jesus as Savior he died on the cross to save us from our sins. Because of Adam's fall, this let sin and phsyical and spiritual death enter into the world. Because of this, man was headed for hell, instead of heaven. God wanted men to choose life and not death. God wants men to live eternally in heaven. So, God had to send Jesus to redeem man from the curse of sin and death.

According to Romans 3:23, "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ." Because the wages of sin is death, someone that is human, but without the sin nature of man has to die to pay the penalty for sin. For example, let's say someone that's the average person, is a million dollars in debt. Let's say someone comes along and pays the debt the person can't pay. That's what Jesus did. He came to pay a debt we couldn't pay. Jesus came to die on the cross to cancel the debt for our sins so we can go to heaven and not spend eternal torment in hell.

How Do I Receive Jesus as Saviour?

Romans 10:8-10 tells us that the Word of God is near us and all we have to do is confess with our mouth Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead and we will be saved from eternal death in hell. Do you want to receive Jesus now as your Saviour? Pray this prayer out loud:

"Father God, please forgive me of all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so that I can have eternal life with you in heaven and not suffer for eternity in hell. Right now, I invite Jesus to come into my life and be my Saviour and Lord. I confess that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead. Thank you Jesus for saving me. In Jesus name, Amen."

Now, That I've Received Jesus, Now What?

Go to church every week and start reading the Bible on a daily basis. Start with the New Testament, especially the gospels, which are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The gospels give an account of the life and ministry of Jesus. You will learn who Jesus is and what He did.

If you don't have a Bible, I recommend that you get one of the modern translations that are easy to read. For beginners I recommend the following translations: The Amplified Bible, The New King James Version, and The New International Version. I use the both the old King James Version and the Amplifed Version. The Amplified Version is very good. It clarifies what is being said. It puts stuff in brackets, parentheses, or italics to define a word or clarify what's being said. For example, Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Chirst." The Amplified would say: "I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ." The word gospel means good news.
